🏆 What Is Riftbound Organised Play?
Riftbound Organised Play (Riftbound OP) is the official competitive system for Riftbound tournaments and events, created by UVS Games in partnership with Riot Games.
The program connects local game store events with global championships, giving every player a path from casual play to the Riftbound World Championship.
🎉 Origins Release Event
When Riftbound launches later this year, players can join a special Origins Release Event at their local game store. This one-time event introduces new players to Riftbound gameplay with a focus on fun, learning, and community.
📦 Riftbound Prerelease Events
For each set after Origins, players can attend a Riftbound Prerelease Event. These events let you:
- Open packs before official release
- Build decks with the newest cards
- Play Riftbound early with friends
Prerelease kits will include everything needed to dive in.
✨ Weekly Nexus Nights
Want consistent play? Local stores will host Riftbound Nexus Nights every week.
- Casual focus: bring your own constructed decks
- Community-driven: perfect for testing decks and making friends
- Flexible scheduling: each store picks its own day
While Nexus Nights don’t feed into higher tournaments, they’re an ideal way to stay active in Riftbound Organised Play.
⚔️ Summoner Skirmish: Store-Level Competitive Play
For more competitive local play, stores will host Summoner Skirmishes twice per set.
- Held at the start and end of each season
- Prizes: promos, exclusive rewards, and a Round 1 bye at Regional Qualifiers
- Casual-friendly: promos are alternate-art versions, not mechanically unique
🌍 Riftbound Regional Qualifiers
Regional Qualifiers bring Riftbound competition to larger venues.
- Open entry: anyone can attend
- Scale: hundreds or thousands of players expected
- Prizes: promos, cash rewards, and “Best of” prizes for top players with specific Champions
- Invites: top performers earn seats at Regional Championships
🏆 Riftbound Regional Championships
Regional Championships are invite-only Riftbound tournaments for the most skilled players.
- Qualifier winners choose which Championship to attend
- On-site Last Chance Qualifiers provide one more shot to qualify
- Bigger cash prizes and exclusive promos
Starting in 2027, Regional Championship winners will earn invites to the Riftbound World Championship.
🌐 Riftbound World Championship
The Riftbound World Championship will showcase the game’s top players competing on the global stage. More details are coming, but the path to Worlds starts in your local game store where every game matters.
🔄 Riftbound Rotation System
To keep the meta balanced, Riftbound will introduce a rotation system (earliest in 2028). This means older sets will rotate out of standard play while remaining legal in eternal formats.
Rotation keeps the competitive scene fresh and rewards adaptive deckbuilding.
📜 Riftbound Tournament Rules
Alongside the Core Rules of gameplay, official Riftbound Tournament Rules will soon be published. These will cover:
- Levels of competition
- Codes of conduct
- Infraction policies
- Competitive guidelines
Together, they’ll form the backbone of the Riftbound Organised Play system.
